Release the Expert Within
Master Baker?
Master Teacher?
Physician who will
show us how be better patients?
Can
you remember the inner joy you feel when something you accomplished
creates a buzz? It might be a great recipe, or making the winning
shot at a basketball game, or having your boss announce that it was
your expertise that nailed a new account.
When you get in touch with what-you-know, you will feel that rush a
thousand fold. Knowledge that you have something of value creates a
feeling of confidence. It lets you know that you are of value.
What-you-know is also an excellent place to start building your
brand and bringing in cash. You don’t have to go and get anything;
you already have it locked inside your brain. Or in your attic, or
dresser drawer. Use it.
Recognize
your expertise or other assets.
Realize and accept your unique skills, instincts, and experiences.
What is it that makes people seek you out, something that makes them
put their project on hold until you can get to it? This is probably
something you take for granted, and wish people would stop hounding
you about. Instead of whining about it, use it.
Life experiences, good and bad, provide grist for lessons learned.
Lessons learned by others act like beacons to the rest of us. They
can keep others from making the same mistake, or shorten the
learning curve. Your sharing can keep others from feeling that they
are the only person in the world who has suffered. Reading how you
coped could save a life.
Your job experiences, properly captured and shared, can help the
rest of us become better prepared to perform similar tasks.
If
you haven't identified your great skill, a tool that you get
with our free electronic book is
just what you need. Sign up at the top of this page, and within
seconds you be on your way.
Qualify and Quantify it.
Who
will your expertise help, and how will it help them? It is
personally gratifying to know that you have expertise, but how are
you going to put it in a context that lets others know that they can
benefit from it. In order to get recognition from others, they will
have to understand what it is, and exactly why they should care.
They'll care if they see something in it for them.
It
is wonderful that you are an expert baker. Your knowing it is
probably gives you a giant ego boost. But tell me what you know
that is going to make me a great baker, and why I should care. If
I'm into baking, now you have me hooked.
Codify it.
Make it your system for overcoming fear, or keeping a car in
tip-top shape for under $50.00, or converting your beauty salon into
a perpetual money machine while spending less time on your feet,
etc.
Now
what? you might ask.
Now, you can choose to use your expertise to do well while doing
good.
Write-Prosper
will show you how.
